Home Services: Setup/Planning

As you hit the home stretch of planning for your relocation to Wichita Falls, it’s important to get your basic utilities and home services arranged prior to your move. Please see the information below for some suggestions and links to begin planning for your relocation.

Moving Company Recommendations

We are happy to provide recommendations for moving companies that we know and trust.  We are fortunate to receive substantial discounts at both Texas-based and domestic moving companies.  If you would like to initiate the Moving Estimate process with these companies (to ensure you receive our company discount), please email Julee Austin ([email protected])

Garbage Collection & Water Service

The City of Wichita Falls handles the setup of your water and the setup (and pickup) of your trash/recycle or yard waste. You will need to make arrangements for your new water service at least 7-10 days out.

Click here to complete the application for new water and garbage service.

Send a copy of the completed application and your driver’s license via fax to: 940-761-8879.

If you don’t have a fax, you are welcome to email this completed application to Julee Austin ([email protected]) and the application will be faxed for you. The city will then call you to pay the deposit over the phone.

Typically there are 2 different disposal receptacles delivered by the city.

  • A gray trash can for typical garbage
  • A green one for yard waste and compostable garbage, this is not a recycling bin.
    • For more information about what can be placed in the green bin, visit: Choose to Reuse

Your trash pickup schedule can be found here.
