Emergency Room, Same-Day Care, or Care from Home

United Regional delivers expert emergency care when it matters most — and helps you understand the level of care you require. Same-day care or care from home are more appropriate and convenient options for treating minor illnesses and injuries.

Care in Any Situation

United Regional greatly values our community’s health and aims to provide care for the whole family in any situation.

Our Emergency Department is open 24/7 to receive anyone that is experiencing a medical emergency. We always accept walk-in patients, but if you do feel like you have an emergency, please be safe and dial 911.

If you aren’t feeling well, but it’s not an emergency, you can depend on the same-day care from our CarePlus clinic for minor illnesses and Orthopedics Express for minor musculoskeletal injuries.

For convenient at-home care, Virtual Visits and E-visits let you speak to a provider right from the MyChart app.

What level of care do you need?

No one plans to have a medical emergency, but there are certain key indicators that can help determine if you or someone you know should go to the Emergency Room or seek less urgent care.

What is a Medical Emergency?

Medical emergencies come in many forms—and they’re never one-size-fits-all.

Seek emergency care immediately if you’re experiencing symptoms such as:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Intense pain
  • Significant blood loss

If you are seeking emergency medical care, we encourage you to dial 911 and Emergency Medical Services will safely transport you to the nearest emergency room and begin care on the way.

Same-Day Care or Care from Home

If you don’t feel that your condition is a medical emergency, our CarePlus clinic is designed to treat a range of minor illnesses and injuries, helping you avoid unnecessary emergency room visits while still receiving quality care.

CarePlus also offers Virtual Visits and E-visits for convenient methods to connect with a provider from the comfort of your home. In some cases, care at home may also be the most convenient and effective solution — especially for managing mild symptoms or chronic conditions with guidance from your provider.

Conditions that may be treated at CarePlus or at home include:

  • Colds, coughs, sore throat, or flu symptoms
  • Chronic conditions like back or knee pain lasting several months
  • Fever (except in newborns or if prolonged — consult your doctor)
  • Minor cuts with bleeding controlled
  • Sprains, sunburns, or minor burns
  • Insect stings (unless breathing difficulty occurs — seek emergency care immediately)
  • Animal bites (consult your doctor about rabies risk)

Alternatively, if you require care for a minor orthopedic injury, you can receive specialized same day care at Orthopedics Express

Orthopedics Express offers treatment and diagnostics for:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken and fractured bones
  • Sports injuries
  • Joint pain

Check Your Symptoms

Sometimes it can be difficult to determine what to do when you start presenting symptoms that you haven’t felt before. From headaches, to flu-like symptoms, to joint pain, we have several questionnaires that can aid in the decision-making process we call Symptom Checker.

Symptom Checker

United Regional is continuously developing new services within MyChart to help you identify a course of action for your symptoms. Click below to see a full list of Symptom Checker options and find the best path to treatment.
