Mammography

Mammograms are specialized X-ray exams that help detect breast cancer early — often before symptoms appear. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, and one in eight will face a diagnosis in her lifetime. With early detection, the five-year survival rate rises to 98 percent.

Choose United Regional for Your Mammography

United Regional offers advanced breast imaging services — including 3D digital mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and biopsy procedures — to support early detection and personalized treatment planning.

Our 3D mammography technology provides layered, high-resolution images of breast tissue, allowing radiologists to examine one millimeter at a time. This level of detail improves visibility, helps detect small cancers, reduces false positives, and enhances accuracy in dense breast tissue, which 80% of women have.

If an abnormality is found, stereotactic breast biopsy offers a safe, minimally invasive way to collect tissue samples for diagnosis. Guided by precise coordinates from 3D imaging, a thin needle targets the area for sampling. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis with minimal discomfort and recovery time.

United Regional’s radiologic equipment — including digital mammography, stereotactic biopsy, MRI, nuclear medicine, and CT scanners — is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), a distinction earned through peer-reviewed evaluations by board-certified physicians and physicists. This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence, safety, and patient-centered care.
